Hijab or the Hijab (Arabic: حجا ب) is an Arabic word meaning barrier. In some Arab speaking countries as well as Western countries, the word 'Hijab' more often refers To veil used by Muslim women (see hijab). But in Islamic scholarship, hijab is more appropriate to refer To dressed appropriate procedures in accordance with the guidance of religion.
In language, the dictionary al Mu'jam al Wasit 1/128, mentioned that the veil has several meanings, namely:
Qomish (a type of cloak).
The cloth that covers the entire body.
Khimar (veil).
Clothing boss like milhafah (blankets).
Such blanket (read: hoods) used a woman to cover her body.
Shaykh bin Baz (from Program Mausu'ah Fatawa Lajnah wal Imamain) said, "The veil is a cloth placed over his head and body on the fabric (innards). Thus, the hijab is a cloth used to cover the woman's head, face, and entire body. While the cloth to cover the head called khimars. So women covered with headscarves, head, face and all entities on the fabric (innards). "(Bin Baz, 289). He also said, "The veil is a rida '(shawl) worn over khimars (veil) as abaya (women's clothing Arabia)." (Bin Baz, 214). At another place he says, "The veil is a cloth that is placed on the head of a woman and her body to cover the face and body, as additional clothing for ordinary clothes (used at home)." (Bin Baz, 746). He also said, "The veil is all the fabrics used to cover the body of a woman. This fabric is used after taking dar'un (a type of cloak) and khimar (headscarf) in order to cover the places fine jewelry original (aurat) or synthetic (eg, necklaces, earrings, etc.). In a previous article, there is the question what is the difference between the hijab headscarf. Shaykh Al Bani rahimahullah said, "Every hijab is a hijab, but not all of the hijab headscarves, as they seem." So it is sometimes said hijab is intended for hijab. The other meaning of the hijab is something that covers him, either in the form of a wall, a sketch or the other. This is what is meant by the word of Allah Almighty in the letter al-Ahzab verse 53: "O ye who believe, do not enter the houses of the prophet unless you have been given permission ... and if you ask for something they to purposes (the wife of the Prophet), then ask for from behind the veil ... "
1. Closing the whole body except Excluded
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,
يا أيها النبي قل لأزواجك وبناتك ونساء المؤمنين يدنين عليهن من جلابيبهن ذلك أدنى أن يؤذين وكان الله غفورا رحيما
"O Prophet, tell your wives, your daughters and wives of the believers: 'Let them garments over their bodies." That is so they are easier to be recognized, therefore they are not disturbed , And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. "(Qur'an, Al-Ahzab: 59)
وقل للمؤمنات يغضضن من أبصارهن ويحفظن فروجهن ولا يبدين زينتهن إلا ما ظهر منها ...
"Say to the believing women: Let their gaze, and his co*k, and they must not reveal her jewelry, except that (usually) appear thereof ..." (QS. An Nuur: 31)
On paragraph in the letter An Nuur which means "unless the (regular) appear thereof", then there is a difference of opinion among scholars that carry different consequences of the law for a Muslim veil. From this first condition, it is obvious for a Muslim woman to cover the entire body except those excluded by the shari'a. So very sad when someone refers to her wearing a headscarf, but we can see hair coming out from either the front or the back, arms that look to a cubit, or neck and ears visible to reveal the jewelry that should be covered.
Important notes in point are the use of khimars which is part of a shari'a use of the veil as contained in the next paragraph in the letter An Nuur verse 31,
وليضربن بخمرهن على جيوبهن
"And let them shut the khimars to his chest."
Khumur is the plural of the word khimars which means something that is used to cover the head. Unfortunately, the use of this khimar often neglected by a Muslim so that a person be content to wear the hijab or only khimars alone. While each compulsory subject, as contained in the hadith from Sa'id bin Jubair on the verse in surah Al Ahzab above, he said, "That is so they are anchored scarf. While his name is qina hijab '(veil) above khimars. A Muslim is not permitted to be seen by a strange man unless he had to wear qina 'above khimarnya to cover the head and neck. "It is also present in atsar of' Aisha radhiallahu'anha, he said,
لابد للمرأة من ثلاثة أثواب تصلي فيهن: درع و جلباب و خمار
"A woman in the prayers have to wear three garments: dress, veil, and khimars." (HR. Ibn Sa'ad, isnaad is authentic based on the terms Muslim)
But there is relief for menopausal women who do not want to marry so that they are allowed to remove her hijab, as contained in the letter An Nuur verse 60:
والقواعد من النساء اللاتي لا يرجون نكاحا فليس عليهن جناح أن يضعن ثيابهن غير متبرجات بزينة وأن يستعففن خير لهن والله سميع
"And the old women who have been suspended (from menstruation and contain) the never wanted to marry (again) never will upon their sin off their clothes with no (intended) show jewelry and polite is better for them. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Wise. "
Radhiallahu'anhu Ibn Abbas said that what is meant by the word "clothes" in the paragraph above is the "veil" and the same thing was said by Ibn Mas'ud. (Issued by Abu Dawud and Al Bayhaqi). Can also note here, that the use khimars imposed before the veil is covering the chest. Then how could someone say to wear headscarves if only to the extent of the neck? Hopefully, this is a muse for my sister as well.
